I got back to the gym last week. When I logged in, I asked the receptionist

Me “When was I last here?”

Her “It says 577 days.”

Me “Holy fuck” (I’m so classy)

Other member “What did you ask her?”

I tell her and she says she’s in the same boat, just getting back to the gym. “At least we’re here now!”

Yes, at least we’re here now. And I’ve been just about every other day since. Bringing me to a grand total of 4 visits for the calendar year. Go me, Go me!

I’ve decided that my ankle pain is not greater than my desire to get to a healthy weight. I mean, I do some much every single day to live a healthy life. And I feel healthy. Except I am very overweight which does not help my joint disease one bit. I’m giving myself six months to get my weight down to see if it helps with my mobility and joint pain.

The first visit to the gym was great. I went longer then I had planned, I did 30 minutes on the bike and 15 walking on the treadmill. I felt really good the next day, which is vital to continuing to attend. My next visit didn’t feel as great after because I went too long on the treadmill i think.

Today I did the bike and then the rowing machine. I decided to use the sauna since I’ve recently read more about the benefits of heat therapy. Might as well get the most out of my membership. I mean I have 577 or about 19 months of gym payments to earn back!

I lasted just under 15 minutes. I had to get out because my necklace was burning me and I was losing my breath. Haha. It was hot! It looked like my knees were burnt when I went to take a shower. Since I was laying on my back with my knees up they were getting the hottest air.

We shall see how I’m feeling tomorrow. I’m going to go again no matter what because I’m taking the weekend off.

What small steps did you decide to AND ARE sticking to this week?
